Deck Builder keeps catalog copy counts visible when you choose alternate art or mix printings. Right-clicking a catalog card can remove an alternate-art copy from the selected section.
Opening-hand artwork preloads from your final main deck after sideboarding is confirmed, at the sizes used for mulligan. Choices appear together when ready; slow downloads show a local hand status, and failed images retain card names while retrying.
Hosting or joining a room keeps the lobby and deck in place while the room connects, with leave and retry controls beside the room status.
Loading shows when a connection is still pending or retrying automatically, with separate messages for offline status and failed downloads. Reload keeps your current game URL; temporary account revalidation keeps an already checked game open.
Legend+ members can choose Ink Seals for their points rail, with painted ink swirls, a gold winning point, short score-change animations, and a compact numbered rail on phones. Try the effects in Customize; the rail stays still between score changes.
Reloading a game keeps one loading screen until the board and its equipped playmats are ready, avoiding intermediate screens and artwork appearing after entry.
Reordering cards in hand, base, battlefields, and the rune row keeps the insertion gap steady when you reverse direction. Cards dragged from deck peek land in the previewed slot, including when released as the gap opens.
Hand reveal, turn controls, deck peek, and touch targeting follow the active mouse or touch input, including with the sidebar expanded. Mouse controls stay compact on touch-capable devices.
Quick-Draw equipment can now be dragged from hand onto a unit on desktop and touch screens. Tapping it in hand on touch screens highlights eligible units to attach to.
Customize now groups Metafy support, account linking, and artist credits above the collection. Paid cosmetics show their subscription requirement; selecting locked token art or emotes opens membership help. Connected subscribers see upgrade prompts only for cosmetics above their tier.
The XP counter sits at the top of your legend to stay clear of the deck, with direct minus and plus controls on desktop hover. Touch screens keep the larger adjustment menu.
Champion+ members can choose Glitched Goober's Riftbuds artwork for eight token types in Customize, with artist credits and links to follow and support her work. Official Recruit alternatives remain free.
Changelog
Week 37
Sep 7–13, 2026
On portrait phones, the chain moves above showdown controls while they are visible and returns to center when they close.
Playmat artwork visibility and contrast can now be adjusted separately, including fully hiding the artwork.
Targeting and equipment selection on touch screens now highlight eligible cards, with clearer prompts and larger cancel controls.
Teammates can inspect each other's hidden battlefield cards in team matches. Reveal controls now list each player separately.
Added Loot Pixie's playmat in Mint and Pink for Champion+ members, with artist credits and links to the store and social profiles.
Legend and Signature Legend members can equip six animated Poro reactions in their emote wheel.
Empower now switches to Disempower on empowered cards in the hold menu and hover actions, so you can remove the tag directly.
Customize offers free alternate Recruit artwork, saved to your account and shown in matches. Artist credits include artwork previews and links to follow and support their work.
Exhausted units no longer keep an upright hover hit box, and attached equipment peeks farther so it stays easier to grab.
Playmat intensity adjustments now mute color and contrast more clearly at lower settings, without going as dark.
Restored the desktop hand hover control for hiding or revealing Hidden cards.
Playmat intensity in Customization can now be set as low as 5%.
Long links in lobby and in-game chat collapse to a "link" label. Click it to preview the URL, then open it in a new tab.
Touch-hold card actions can Play hidden for eligible cards, then tap a highlighted battlefield on the board (with a dimmed backdrop) to place it face down.
Face-down cards return face up when moved back to hand.
Selecting cards in deck peek shows move actions in a bar under the peek panel, and the panel shrinks enough to keep those actions on screen.
Phone touch-hold card previews are larger and easier to read; battlefield marker holds use a full-width landscape preview, with target actions matching other cards.
Face-down cards dragged from a battlefield keep the deck cardback in the drag ghost instead of the battlefield sleeve.
The battlefield token picker stays above board cards on phones, with clearer spacing so tokens no longer overlap or clip out of the panel.
Player nameplates have more room for names and badges, and badge details open in floating tooltips without moving the player menu.
Playmats, sleeves, nameplates, and badges stay fixed throughout a game, including reconnects and rewinds, preventing customization refreshes from briefly clearing them.
Awarded L2 and L3 Judge badges can now be equipped in Customization and display their judge artwork on player nameplates.
Card dragging recovers when a mouse release is missed or drag startup is interrupted, and rapid pointer movement does less work per frame.
Judge chat now gives shorter explanations for closed or expired questions, inactive matches, and connection problems.
Fixed public matchmaking name checks failing before review, so severely abusive names can trigger the existing seven-day account ban.
Corrected community judge answers now replace the outdated answer in the original Discord post, with attribution to the correcting judge. The correction reply remains in the thread.
The phone lobby keeps card browsing, game history, customization, Metafy, and account actions visible, with a more compact menu for the remaining controls.
Floating energy and power controls stay beside the rune deck on wider touch screens instead of shifting upward into the rune area, with separate space for the hand-reveal button.
Reduced work during simulator actions, especially in longer games with a full match log, and while displaying card counter controls.
New multiplayer rooms request hosting near their creator's region to reduce avoidable long-distance connections. Existing matches keep their current location.
Open the emote tile under Other to customize your six-position wheel with fifteen free reactions. Drag emotes onto the wheel or between positions, and use your saved wheel in games.
Game history records multiplayer games after mulligans, including duration, final scores, and decks you can load into the lobby or save to your library. A Private deck checkbox in the lobby prevents opponents from viewing or copying your deck list. You can edit results and scores in your own history, reset a personal edit from the row with a 10-second Undo toast, or delete entries with Undo. Only the latest undoable action can be reversed. Deck details use a denser list with hover or tap card previews.
On phones and tablets, hold one of your board cards and slide to Ping to highlight it for your opponent without changing the card.
Metafy hover tips are shorter and stay visible during the coffee animation. Membership buttons now show a hand cursor.
Public matchmaking now checks player names automatically. Names that clearly contain severe abuse can result in a seven-day account ban.
The simulator gives Safari a dark background for its browser bars and requests a dark status bar when opened from the iPhone home screen. On the website, supported browser bars follow your selected light or dark theme.
Community answers approved by a Wizened Judge now show a Judge approved badge in match chat. Correcting an answer removes its previous approval and prevents further approval of that answer.
Card actions respond sooner on slower devices, and equipped playmat borders render with less graphics overhead.
Touch input keeps hover actions and tooltips hidden, while a mouse or trackpad restores them automatically—even on a touchscreen device. No control-mode setting is needed.
Board action and toggle menus stay aligned at different board scales, remain reachable by mouse, and support Space activation with focus restored after closing. Token menus stay closed while dragging cards.
Deck peek is more compact on phones and tablets, with smaller cards and selection actions inside the panel. Selected cards can go directly into hand. Touch players can take a card directly into hand or hold it to take or keep it on top, recycle the rest, and close the panel.
Touch devices no longer open card previews or action controls from hover. Board action menus stay above other controls and within the screen edges.
Custom sleeves now appear during battlefield selection and mulligans. Playmats and card backs stay stable during unrelated gameplay and cosmetic updates, and reconnects reuse recent cosmetic checks.
New badge notifications appear in the lobby once per earned badge or membership tier, with a shortcut to choose which badges to display. Badge details explain the award and community-helper milestones.
Phone setup now keeps battlefield choices, mulligan cards, and turn-order labels on screen. Practice selection and sideboarding are more compact, with reachable deck controls and confirmation buttons.
Touch controls no longer show mouse and keyboard hover hints. Chat avoids iPhone input zoom, and holding the game surface no longer selects page text. Phone playmats extend behind the bottom toolbar.
Release Customization and Metafy memberships: Everyone can browse customization and connect a Metafy account. Signed-in players can save free playmats and sleeves; membership tiers unlock their matching cosmetics, badges, and nameplates.
Equipment already attached to a unit can now be dragged onto another friendly unit, including at battlefields, to resolve attachment effects such as Weaponmaster.
Touch players can tap an existing card counter to reveal quick controls beside the card. Adjust either color repeatedly, then tap outside to return to play. Paired counters share a compact control, with smaller badges on small screens. Counters move directly up or down as cards exhaust or ready, and stay upright and joined while dragging. Crowded counters shrink and shift toward the exposed card edge. Mouse controls stay connected as you move between the number and its buttons, and holding C follows the counters’ size and position.
Your Decks now supports searching by deck name, legend, or champion, filtering by status, and sorting by name or update time. Your Decks and Community Decks use more compact cards and browsing controls.
Judge translations keep English answers for English questions and recognize unique one-character spelling variants in longer Chinese card names.
Fixed exhausted runes appearing ready after card dragging and other board layout updates.
Lobby chat now shows sender names when more than two players are seated.
Deck Builder and Sealed now support undo and redo. Sealed adds grouped pool browsing and a deck-readiness checklist.
Board layout now adapts to the available play area and sidebar changes. Touch menus stay within the visible area when rotating the device or opening the keyboard. Reveal Hand stays inside the hand area, below the rune row.
Judge translations recognize Traditional and Simplified Chinese card names, use the translated language’s card names, and use the correct Action and Reaction terminology.
Play page demos now use larger 60 fps recordings, start automatically when visible, and provide pause controls and reduced-motion support.
Sideboarding now shows when the opponent disconnects or leaves and provides a Leave Game button, including after locking in. If a player leaves during setup, the remaining players return to the lobby, including between Best-of-3 games. Leaving an active Best-of-3 now finishes the series, and private linked games retain Return to Lobby.
A compact notice shows when an opponent is reconnecting, with Leave match available after 20 seconds. After an opponent has been disconnected for five minutes, remaining players can end the abandoned match without awarding a winner. Completed games are preserved when returning to the lobby.
Touch players can hold a ready or exhausted rune, slide to Recycle, and release to recycle it. A one-time tip explains the gesture.
The homepage now introduces card search, deck building, online play, and Sealed with direct starting links and natural scrolling. Play online opens the Simulator directly in your selected language.
Cosmetic refreshes keep gameplay responsive during slow connection checks. Expired membership cosmetics clear automatically, playmat previews use smaller images, and repeated membership refreshes show a cooldown notice.
Auto-pay and Empower previews now clear when their controls disappear or lose focus, preventing ready runes from staying tilted. Switching between payment controls now shows only the latest preview.
Cards now settle at their board position and remain visible after movement animations finish or are interrupted.
English judge questions in Discord no longer show unnecessary translation instructions.
Discord account connections now recover across browser tabs, offer a fresh start when loading stalls, and explain expired links or account mismatches. Reconnecting the same accounts preserves community contribution history.
Landscape tablet games now share the collapsed sidebar's width with a compact chain summary between the score track and turn controls, with larger card art. Tap the card for a full preview and chain history, or pin the preview to move it around the board.
Ping sounds and other game sound effects now recover after temporary loading failures without requiring a page reload.
Non-English judge questions now include an English AI translation in Discord. Helpers can answer in English or the original language; English answers show an AI translation back in-game when available, with a toggle to view the original. Discord replies also show the same translation below the original answer.
Membership badges now share the five-badge limit and follow selection order. Failed customization saves show a retry action, mobile membership returns open reliably, and membership dialogs remain dismissible during stalled requests.
Rewind and Forward now work in 2v2 and three- or four-player free-for-all. Rewinding past fewer than three moves by other players is immediate; three or more requires approval from any one opponent.
Temporary failures while checking for account warnings no longer interrupt an ongoing game.
Player reports now focus on conduct concerns, with gameplay-related reasons removed from the form and guidance to leave the lobby for gameplay issues.
In 2v2, hands are now shared with your teammate by default and stay visible across turns. You can still hide your hand; reveals to opponents expire at the next turn.
Active Judge conversations now renew the question’s expiry window, and Judge chat automatically recovers after temporary access-check failures.
Drawing a card now plays its deck-to-hand animation again. You can also drag the top card directly from your deck; it stays face-down until dropped.
Rift Atlas playmats have sharper artwork, consistent logos, and Static or Animated effects. Matching sleeves are free in four colors for your main, rune, and battlefield decks. Playmats stay centered and resize with the sidebar.
Locked cosmetics can be previewed on a sample board, with their membership requirements and a notice that they are not equipped for games. Selected sleeves stay centered, and the customization header collapses when scrolling.
Tablet controls now include Next Game, Rewind, and Forward alongside fullscreen and leave-room controls, with the timer and turn shown above them.
Community Helper badges now unlock at 25 answered Judge questions and automatically upgrade at 100, 500, and 1,000 answers. Equip the badge once to show a compact speech-bubble emblem in your nameplate and detailed artwork in your player profile.
Match logs now name cards moved to trash, including grouped moves, with the usual card hover previews.
A one-time tip now suggests pausing at the Beginning Phase when a Temporary unit enters a battlefield, with a button to enable the pause.
Reveal Hand is back at the top-left of the desktop hand area and stays clickable above the cards.
Initiative now resolves all rolls and ties before the dice animation starts, preventing setup from getting stuck waiting for another player's roll.
All four Rift Atlas playmats are now free for signed-in players, including intensity, shimmer, and board chrome controls. No Metafy membership is required.
Player reports now screen both the reporter's and reported person's names for clear hate, including leetspeak, while allowing ambiguous self-descriptive names. Automatic bans for severe abuse in names, Judge questions, and bug reports now last seven days.
A notification now links back to your game when it starts while you’re browsing another Simulator page.
Rift Atlas Starfall playmats have quieter artwork with the current logo. Optional edge shimmer replaces the blurred animation, and the customization page uses a static background to reduce graphics work.
Quick Match automatically reconnects after reloads and connection interruptions, without requiring Resume Search. Cancel Search remains available during recovery.
Simulator match logs now show points gained at turn start, including the scoring player and their score before and after.
Tablet Simulator windows keep the full hand visible and provide a movable Chain area with its card-art timeline, Settings and Leave controls, and Chat and Log panels. Collapsed mode places fullscreen, elapsed time, and turn count in the top-right corner. Expanding restores the normal sidebar beside the board. Hidden chat shows an unread opponent-message count. Hold a card for touch actions, drag cards and Chain entries with a finger, and use drag handles in scrolling card lists.
Tablet score tracks and player nameplates remain visible in Android Chrome. Touch layouts use regular card sizes when space allows, and switching from touch to mouse preserves hand hover and right-click actions.
Touch card menus now show a larger preview. Add counter opens reusable +/− and remove controls on the preview, while Add label offers presets and custom text with replacement and removal controls.
The Simulator hand has a slimmer, darker background. Tablet hands use the space beside floating resources and the spare bottom padding for larger cards, with the visibility button kept clear of the artwork.
The desktop Simulator chain now shrinks in short windows to keep Chat and Log visible, and chain cards follow the card-size setting within the available space.
Board cards, point markers, and controls shrink slightly in smaller desktop Simulator windows. The additional automatic card adjustment is capped at 10%; the card-size slider still controls larger changes.
Signed-in players and spectators can report participants through their displayed names, including chat authors and judge answers.
