Eager Ahri (with guide)

UGKID APPROVED!!! This deck is extremely cheap with the exception of blue ahri, time warp and watcher. Although they're very strong, they aren't deck defining and can be replaced. Some replacement suggestion are:

• Blue ahri (chosen champ) -> Green Ahri (chosen champ)
• Time warp/watcher -> Vilemaw/Dr Mundo/Tasty Faefolk/Singularity/Any of the deck's "two ofs" (e.g. charm, thwonk, back off etc.)
• Diana (in sideboard) -> Any 3 energy unit (e.g. allay admirer, chakram dancer, sunlit guardian)
• Any spell -> Any other similar spell (e.g. discipline -> feral strength, defy -> not so fast etc.)

 General Gameplan:

The main idea behind this deck is to abuse the strength of ravenbloom students and eager apprentices. The deck consists of mostly 2 cost spells, meaning that with the eager apprentice discount they only cost half of the printed cost. Since we are able to cheat out so much energy, the deck is supplemented by a lot of cheap draw through both spells (e.g. meditation/dredge up) and free draw from our battlefields. By using this power early and midgame to hold battlefields, we can then retreat and close out games with either watcher or time warp.

Battlefield Order:

• Ravenbloom Conservatory should be your blind battlefield. You will almost always get more value than your opponent out of it since the deck is 75% spells, charms allow for additional triggers, and you will most likely be wanting to hold more than your opponent.
• Grove of the God Willow should be your "going 1st" battlefield. Make sure you side in all 2 drops if any were previously sided out since getting onto Grove first is extremely advantageous. It forces your opponent to have an answer or let you farm a ton of value.
• Abandoned Hall should be your "going 2nd" battlefield. This battlefield does not provide draw (unlike the other 2 battlefields) but instead makes your spells have more value, slightly lessening the need for draw. Importantly, you don't need to control this battlefield to get this value, so it doesn't matter if your opponent gets on it first. Once again, this deck is almost always going to be getting more value than your opponent on this battlefield because of the sheer number of cheap spells it runs. For this battlefield, side out 3 plundering poros for 3 dianas as they can still be played as a turn 1 play, and also help alleviate the lack of draw.

Mulligan:

• If you do not have a turn one play, mull 2 away to search for one.
• If both timewarp and watcher are in your opening hand, keep whichever one is more relevant in the matchup. If you see either alone, mull it away for better early plays.
• In general, the premium cards to look for are ravenbloom student, eager apprentice, discipline, and stupefy. Charm and defy are also excellent cards to look for depending on matchup.

Sideboard:

• Side in 2 turn to dusts against decks reliant on gear, or decks that have extremely high impact gear (e.g. dazzling aurora, azir, pack of wonders etc.)
• Side in the blue/green decrees against their respective colours. These are EXTREMELY powerful.
• Side in windwall to defend against decks that threaten large high impact spells (e.g. downwell, singularity, ruination, arise, unchecked power etc.)
• Side out poros for dianas when going 2nd.
• The default card to be taking out is dredge up for tech cards.
• Consider taking out some stuns/blocks against heavy removal decks in favour of more units.

Early Game:

• Turn one you will just play out your unit and pass 99% of the time. The only exception is if you are going 2nd and your opponent plays an irresistible faefolk on their first turn. In this case, it's usually better to pass turn one, then either play 2 units on your 2nd turn, or play a unit leaving runes up threatening interaction (e.g, if they pull your guy with faefolk and ambush with a larger unit, you can stun their larger unit and you will actually conquer on their turn since you are the defender).
• Turn two can be one of the hardest decisions of the game. Do you develop your 2nd unit in base, or reinforce your unit? This depends a lot on the game state (what's in your hand, what is your opponent threatening, how important is it to threaten to contest the other battlefield on your next turn?), and you will get a feel for what you can and can't get away with as you play the deck.
• It is almost never a good idea to hide cards within the first 2 turns since this deck uses energy EXTREMELY efficiently, and even just having an extra rune up to bluff with makes your opponent's life much harder. Hiding a card at a battlefield being held with only 1 unit is especially risky due to removal, bounces, and forced movement. However, sometimes it can be a really strong play if you know that your opponent does not have good answers for it and don't have great alternative plays.

Mid Game:

• You can cast meditation on the opponent's turn, allowing you to get ravenbloom student and abandoned hall triggers on your opponent's turn.
• Always leave runes open to threaten interaction while you have units at a battlefield.
• If you control both battlefields, don't be afraid to pass with a majority or even all of your runes open. If they only develop units and do not attack, it makes it really easy for you to threaten watcher and/or time warp lethals with the free points.
• Be mindful when recycling runes leading up to your time warp/watcher turns. When you have the option to recycle either blue or green runes mid-late game (e.g. hiding a card), always hide blue runes. The 6-6 rune split means that you are guaranteed to have enough blue runes to cast Watcher and Time Warp if you have the energy for it,
• If you don't have the resources to support your units at a battlefield, take them back and try to develop for a re-conquer on the following turn.

Late Game:

• Your main way to close out games is through Watcher or Time Warp.
• Keep in mind you can chain Time Warp into a watcher the following turn. This is especially useful if you hold to 6 and your opponent is tapped out.
• If you are able to beat your opponent to 6 points, consider bringing your units back to base and developing as much might as possible to attempt to double conquer with Watcher the following turn.
• It is often worth leaving one or two units at one battlefield, especially if you have a lot of defensive cards in hands (e.g. thwonk/block). This will force your opponent to spend more resources on their turn, making the double conquer on your next turn easier.
• Sometimes the right play is to slam down a watcher even if it doesn't bring you to 8 points. This is usually when you can kill key units or punish a bad hold attempt by the opponent, particularly if you know they have little interaction left.
• Keep in mind that time warp costs one less because of eager apprentice (this can catch some opponents off guard).
• Time Warp can be especially powerful in combination with Emperor's Divide, since you can score up to 4 points on your turns for only 10 runes.
• When playing Time Warp, be mindful of counterspells. This is particularly relevant against purple decks post-sideboard in games 2 and 3, as it is likely they side in Abandons/Hard Bargains after you may have already cheesed your opponent with it.
• Don't panic if you find neither by end game. Games like these are still very winnable, just a little bit harder.
