Next Game now works in three- and four-player free-for-all and 2v2 games without an automatically detected winner. Players can confirm starting the next game after agreeing the current game is over, including a verbal concession. Without a known winner, history leaves the result unrecorded instead of guessing from unfinished scores.
Opening hands now show named card fallbacks after a short artwork wait, so a stalled image no longer blocks mulligan choices. Artwork can recover without clearing your selection. Best-of-three game-one artwork also starts loading when you choose your battlefield.
Initiative dice start loading during match setup and wait up to five seconds for the renderer before starting their animation. If loading stalls, matching faceted dice show the results instead.
The touch rune tip no longer blocks card gestures and clears when you begin interacting with the board.
Unavailable End Turn and Next Game controls explain why they are unavailable, including on touch screens and keyboard focus.
Opponent card backs now retain more color at low cosmetic intensity: 25% intensity keeps custom sleeves at 62.5% saturation. Face-up cards are unaffected.
Cards on the Chain can now be pinged individually, and timeline cards open previews on click. Marking or clearing Repeat now appears in the game log with the card name.
Board preferences, including stopping at the beginning phase, now carry over to the next game and rematches.
Chat messages can now be selected and copied for translation. On phones, the Banished pile button no longer covers card-selection controls while a card list is open.
Brush now displays its battlefield artwork when playing in Chinese.
Legend and champion cards now keep clear of the supply piles in short desktop windows.
Vesomnia's Akali cardback is now available for card, rune deck, and battlefield sleeves with Champion and higher memberships.
New cosmetic labels and red notification dots now remain available for up to five days after release, clearing sooner once you view the items. The lobby notification dot now also appears on phones in portrait and landscape.
Changelog
Week 39
Sep 21–27, 2026
Game help can label the board controls directly or show all shortcuts in a list, with instructions for mouse, keyboard, and touch. Card counters show compact mouse-button and scroll hints.
Lowering your playmat's Artwork visibility lets the normal board show through, down to 10%. Game Settings now lets you soften opponent cosmetics: choose an intensity from 25% to 100% to cap their playmat visibility while preserving any lower setting they chose, and mute the colors of their playmat and custom sleeves. Liquid-glass effects now soften with the displayed playmat intensity, too.
Chinese game logs translate card plays from more zones and correctly describe moving selected cards to the trash.
Release Custom Sealed pools: Build a Sealed pool from any mix of Origins, Spiritforged, Unleashed and Vendetta boosters, up to 12 packs. Custom pools open, save and build like the other formats and can be played in private rooms.
Open Sealed packs with friends: share a setup from the format picker, the custom pool builder, or the pack table before anyone opens, so everyone opens their own packs, or the exact same cards, at the same time. Share pool in the builder sends a finished pool. Copy the link, use your device's share sheet, or send it to a friend; friends get a Sealed card with an Open button in their messages, even if they were offline.
Friends & messages now works on the website: open it from the header to chat with friends, add friends and answer requests, with unread messages counted on the button. Game invitations and Watch game open the Simulator. The Sealed share window lists the same friends, and a first-time visitor picks a player name before adding anyone.
Opening Sealed packs feels more physical: the seal now peels open from where you pull, with a torn paper edge, light spilling out, foil flecks and crinkle sounds, and stays torn if you let go partway. Packs tilt and catch the light under the cursor and lift into your hand, the unrevealed stack thins as you go, revealed cards collect in a pile beside the pack on wide screens, rare pulls flash with light, and phones vibrate lightly while tearing and when a rare appears.
If connecting Metafy is interrupted before it finishes, the membership window reopens when you come back, including with the Back button, and offers Connect Metafy again instead of asking you to renew or disconnect first. Retrying a connection that didn't finish no longer delays the link when a later attempt succeeds.
Your player name now stays with your account: after you type it once, other browsers and devices pick it up automatically, and opening the Simulator somewhere without a saved name no longer clears the name your friends see.
When your 1v1 opponent has been disconnected for a minute, Claim win ends the match in your favor instead of waiting. Returning to the lobby while a match is loading or reconnecting no longer concedes it: the match stays in the lobby for you to resume. Leave Game during sideboarding now asks for confirmation.
Starting the next game of a best-of-three, a rematch, or returning to the lobby no longer fails now and then with a room error.
Vesomnia's Akali playmat is now available in Customization for Champion and higher memberships, with links to the artist's work.
The playmat and sleeve pickers in Customization show each design once, with a swatch for each of its variants on the card, so you can choose a variant without opening Adjust.
LUINDIMAS's sleeves now come in Sketch, Silver, Green, and Purple variants alongside the original artwork for Champion and higher memberships.
Spectator views opened by a player seated in the same game no longer show the other players' hidden cards, and a watcher who takes a seat no longer keeps the hand view a friend shared with them. After Return to Lobby, a hand you hide from a watcher stays hidden, and a spectator who reconnects sees your current choice right away.
If a player leaves a Best of 3 while the next game is being set up, the match stays over instead of starting another game. Game history records the game winner both players agreed on, and Rewind no longer looks available after a Best of 3 result is reported.
In hosted 2v2 rooms, switching during setup to a deck that shares a Champion Legend or battlefield with your teammate is refused, the same as when the host starts the game.
In 2v2, Duplicate and card labels now work on a teammate's card instead of silently doing nothing.
The Chain holds up to 20 entries: adding another is refused with a message instead of silently removing the oldest entry and its card.
Dragging the face-down top card of your deck onto a battlefield with enemy units now opens a Showdown, as playing it from hand or the deck peek does, and Baron Nashor on top of the deck has to enter Baron Pit.
Setup choices made while your connection drops, such as a sideboard lock-in or skip, a mulligan, a first-player choice or a Goldfish choice, are sent again when you reconnect instead of silently vanishing. If a choice still cannot be delivered, the control is released with a message instead of staying stuck.
In matchmaking, a server restart no longer resets a disconnected opponent's forfeit countdown to the start.
When a match drops while it is still loading, it keeps reconnecting with growing waits instead of suggesting you return to the lobby, and it reconnects as soon as your device is back online. A brief server hiccup while joining is retried automatically, a sign-in refresh no longer cancels a card you are dragging, and Leave or Concede reaches the server more reliably when you close the tab right after.
When the server refuses an action, the error keeps showing the actual reason instead of switching to a generic message. A pending End Turn, might change, card label or Chain vote is no longer lost after a reconnect, chat or emote errors no longer cancel pending moves, and switching perspective while you control both sides no longer undoes your last move.
Custom playmats can put glass behind your base, rune, and battlefield areas so cards stand out from the artwork. Turn on Glass behind play zones under Adjust, then set Glass strength from Clear, which only bends the playmat along the pane edges, to Frosted. Glass starts on when you choose your first playmat, opponents see it on your side of the board, and the Floating counters get a darker backing so they stay readable. Custom playmats no longer draw thick outline bands along your play areas, the Adjust panel is more compact, and if your system asks for reduced transparency the panes turn solid.
The Ink Seals points rail shows each number on a glass bead with an outlined numeral, so scores stay readable on any playmat.
Pulsing action prompts and showdown highlights no longer redraw the whole board on every frame, easing the load on slower devices.
If your connection drops while you pick a battlefield, your pick is sent again when you reconnect instead of leaving the game stuck on battlefield selection.
If the server can no longer load a game room, the game now says the room is unavailable instead of trying to reconnect for as long as the tab stays open.
Card search understands the exhaust symbol: searching exhaust includes cards with the symbol, and [exhaust] finds only those cards. Searching tap still works, and the symbol is now labelled Exhaust.
New friend requests show the player name you play under instead of your account's real name. If this browser has no player name saved, the friends panel asks you to choose one before you add players or share your friend code. Signing in partway through joining a game no longer fills in your player name from your account name or email address.
The Customize page has a Voucher button for redeeming codes that unlock a badge or cosmetics without a membership: every cosmetic, one creator's collection, or a single piece. Unlocked pieces work in live games, and cosmetics added to your account appear in the lobby the way new badges do. A History button beside it lists redeemed vouchers, unlocked cosmetics, badge grants, and Metafy membership milestones.
Match chat keeps its space in shorter desktop windows: an empty Chain now shrinks to a slim drop area until a card is added, and long unbroken words wrap inside their message. While your connection or sign-in is recovering, the chat says so instead of silently disabling Send.
Auto-paying Empower with Risen Altar's discount now keeps your runes where it can, exhausting a rune instead of recycling one when that covers the cost.
Clicking a card while still holding Shift after Shift+C now duplicates it instead of adding it to the Chain.
On phones, counters on an opponent's battlefield card stay visible above your own face-down cards.
On touch screens, holding one of your cards on the board now offers Give control whenever another player can receive it.
When your game connection drops, returning to the tab reconnects right away instead of waiting for the next retry, and the connection-lost notice offers Retry connection.
The emote wheel opens with your saved emotes right away instead of waiting for your account to load.
Paid cosmetics and badges no longer briefly disappear from a lobby while players wait.
Community Judge replies support longer, multi-line explanations. Rules requests now have a shorter prompt and a compact waiting card, with clearer notice of what appears in Discord.
Left-click a card in the Chain stack to open a larger preview at your preferred preview size. Click it again or move off the card to dismiss it.
Mouse users can adjust hover preview size independently of board card size in Game settings, including on tablets with a mouse. Both size sliders support 50–150%. The shorter settings popover shows a live card sample when hovering either size slider and keeps percentages next to each slider.
Membership now shows artwork, tier benefits, monthly prices, and direct checkout links. Locked cosmetics, including token artwork and emotes, open individual previews with the relevant membership and price. Browsing free token artwork no longer shows a membership offer.
Card counters can now be adjusted with the scroll wheel over their number or +/− controls, with hover hints explaining the shortcut.
Convergence top-three finishers can collect dated placement badges and display awards from multiple events together.
LUINDIMAS's playmat now offers a Sketch variant through Adjust, alongside the original artwork for Champion and higher memberships.
The disconnect notice asks for confirmation before conceding, and offers a normal Leave match action after the match has been won. Finished BO3 matches show their winner even during setup between games.
Rune Deck taps now work when floating resource text overlaps the deck in very short windows.
Started matchmaking duels now award the match automatically when an opponent uses their five-minute disconnect allowance. The allowance carries across reconnects and BO3 games, and pauses while both players are disconnected.
Agreeing to skip card swaps in multiplayer BO1 now lets players confirm their chosen champion before any opening hands are drawn.
Games that end through concession no longer start another turn. Leaving after a player reaches the winning score preserves that game’s result. Disconnect timeouts cannot overturn a completed match.
Community rules answers in match chat now separate the author, verified judge badge, and answer more clearly, with a direct link to request further explanation in Discord.
Friends now recovers its connection status after a temporary sign-in refresh failure.
Short reconnects now preserve repeated inputs and queued moves of newly drawn cards. Recovery also avoids replaying an action twice after a temporary storage failure and restores corrected game state when catching up.
Fixed a rare match freeze when a spectator returned to the lobby while room cleanup was running.
Hidden units no longer count as battlefield presence before they are revealed, preventing them from incorrectly triggering Showdown.
Solo practice now lets you adjust buffs and counters on either side's cards.
LUINDIMAS's playmat and sleeves are now available in Customization for Champion and higher memberships, with links to the artist's work.
