Rampin’ Drakes (Juicy Jayce Style)

Hi,

I usually make off meta decks that can be competitive and fun at local NN/Skirmishes. 

The goal of this deck is to ramp into elder without the use of Dazzling Aurora.  You also have other win conditions by either out valuing your opponent through card draw or Time Warp.

The new orange dragon lets us get more value in our ramp cards.  This includes mobilize, catalyst, and the Paper Tree battlefield.  Based on how the new card is worded, you can play catalyst on with 10 runes and still get the extra draw.

With catalyst or herald of dragons on turn 2, you can then play the new orange dragon or empyrean on turn 3.

Empyrean is a clairvoyance that gives you an 8 might body at the cost of 1 extra energy.   You have Time Warp and Elder to show off so you will be predicting 4 cards before you draw 2 cards.

Elder Dragon is  your final push for the deck.  Since you are not playing Aurora, you should already have some type of developed board.  You have Herald of Dragons, super ramp, and eggs to help you play elder without totally crashing your rune economy.

Temporal Breach can be used to protect both Empyrean and Elder Dragon while getting their strong on-play effects.

Time Warp is an alternative win condition for this deck.  There are pipe dream scenarios with Dragon Roost and Cosmic Vista Battlefields, but I wouldn’t chase after them.

2-drops.  Poro Bot can be readied by the Jayce Legend and potentially give card draw later on in the game.  Plundering Poro allows you to prevent you from deramping later on while giving early game presence.

Final notes: I think Dazzling Aurora is a fun deck to play if you build it around your local meta and your own playstyle.  People will always complain about something so play to your own tune.  This dragon deck is just another variation of a ramp deck, which is hard to find outside of Aurora .  Feel free to make a copy and polish it up more.  Enjoy!
