Irelia is a Calm/Chaos tempo deck that rewards careful sequencing, movement and resource management. Irelia, Fervent is the centerpiece: whenever you choose or ready her, she gains +1 Might for the turn, while Deflect makes opposing spells and abilities more expensive to aim at her. Irelia’s Legend ability can then ready a friendly unit after you choose it, letting Fervent benefit from both effects in the same sequence.
Early game: Establish flexible pieces such as Tideturner and prepare your Hidden cards while contesting the board without overcommitting. Stellacorn Herder becomes an important value engine later, drawing a card whenever it moves.
Mid game: Deploy Irelia, Fervent and start turning your cheap interaction into tempo. Defiant Dance can simultaneously strengthen one unit and weaken another, Discipline provides a temporary Might boost plus a card, and equipment such as Boots of Swiftness gives you additional ways to choose Irelia, Fervent and trigger her ability. Tideturner lets you swap units between locations at reaction speed, creating sudden attacks or pulling important pieces out of danger.
Late game: The deck wins through timing rather than raw board size. Use movement and reactions to turn apparently even showdowns in your favor, ready key units at the right moment, and preserve important threats with Zhonya’s Hourglass. Because Zhonya’s replaces a unit’s death by healing, exhausting and recalling it, it can keep a valuable piece alive for another turn instead of losing it outright.
